Special Unit 2 (SU2) is a secret division of the Chicago Police Department. They are such a mystery that no one outside of their unit is aware of what they really do, they just know to stay out of their way. The SU2 headquarters is an abandoned subway station that you can only enter through the hidden door at the back of the Golden Eagle dry cleaners. The mission of SU2 is to track down and rid the city of what they call "Links". A Link is a creature that evolved from the missing link between man and beast. (Source: thetvdb.com)

| Some water Links, nicknamed Mermen, from two years ago have reappeared and are victimizing young women. The merman emits a high pitched sound which temporarily paralyzes the victim thus making it where the merman can empty the victim of their soul. This leaves the victim in a semi-vegetative state. The catch is that it only works on virgins. A tie-in to the story is that Kate's younger sister is visiting and dating a rather mysterious guy. Rich doesn't like that the case has been handed over to SU2 and tries to solve it himself which gets him in trouble.
