1. Scope and provider

These terms govern the use of serien-empfehlungen.de and tv-shows.tv (“the website”). The provider and controller is the operator named in the Legal Notice. Our Privacy Policy applies in addition.

2. Service, no entitlement

The website provides series and movie recommendations, ratings, watchlists and community features free of charge and without obligation. There is no entitlement to constant availability or to any particular set of features. We may change, restrict or discontinue features at any time.

3. Account and minimum age

Some features require a user account. You may use a freely chosen username (pseudonym); providing an e-mail address is optional and only needed for optional features such as password reset and reminder e-mails. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Use is only permitted from a minimum age of 16.

4. Content rules

You agree not to post content that is unlawful, discriminatory, racist, defamatory, vulgar, harassing, obscene, harmful to minors or otherwise infringing. Spam, advertising, chain letters, malware and posting copyrighted works for which you do not hold the necessary rights are likewise prohibited. Posting links to obviously illegal streaming offers is not permitted.

5. Rights in your content

You retain the rights to content you submit (e.g. ratings, reviews, comments, profile data). You grant us a simple, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and make this content publicly available within the service – in particular on the relevant series/movie pages, in overviews and in structured metadata. This licence ends, as far as technically possible and reasonable, when the respective content or your account is deleted. Lawful uses that have already taken place remain unaffected.

6. Moderation, reporting and complaints

Contributions containing text (reviews, replies, submitted streaming links) are reviewed before publication (pre-moderation). We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law, or restrict its visibility. You can report unlawful or inappropriate content via the “Report” function on the respective pages or by e-mail to the address in the Legal Notice. You may object to a removal or suspension by e-mail to the address in the Legal Notice; we will review your complaint and inform you of the outcome.

7. Recommendation system

The website shows personalized recommendations based, among other things, on your ratings, your watchlist and – if provided – year of birth and gender. See the Privacy Policy for details.

8. Liability

User-generated contributions reflect the opinion of their author; we do not adopt them as our own and do not check them for accuracy or completeness. We are liable for our own content according to statutory provisions. For third-party content (including user content) we are liable only from the moment we become aware of a specific infringement; upon becoming aware we remove the content in question promptly. Otherwise we are liable only for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health; liability for slight negligence is limited to the breach of essential contractual obligations and to the foreseeable, typical damage. Any further liability is excluded. Mandatory statutory liability (including under the Product Liability Act) remains unaffected.

9. Suspension and termination

You may delete your account at any time without giving reasons via the account settings. We may terminate the usage relationship with reasonable notice. In case of violations of these terms or applicable law we may remove content and suspend the account temporarily or permanently; upon request we will tell you the reason for a suspension. Your right to object (section 6) remains unaffected.

10. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms with effect for the future where required for good reason (e.g. changes in law, new features). The current version is always available on this page.

11. Applicable law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of habitual residence remain unaffected.
